Even though the Christmas season is past, shopping still takes a lot out of our wallets. Receipts pile up, and paychecks keep disappearing. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you could be rewarded for shopping with more than just a loyalty program? You can! Cashback shopping helps you save money when shopping online, and we’ve found several popular sites that you can use to reap the rewards.

Ebates Coupons and Cash Back

Ebates makes cashback shopping as easy as clicking “Checkout” on any of its 1,700 stores. Top brands like JcPenney, Kohl’s and Best Buy are just a few. Each store offers its own cashback percentage, which is listed in the store’s description when you’re browsing. Cashback paychecks are sent out every quarter (3 months) as long as you’ve earned more than $5.00. Any lesser amount will be carried over to the next quarter and subsequently placed in that quarter’s earnings. Ebates has paid out over $325 million to its members since its founding in 1998.

Mr. Rebates

Although Mr. Rebates isn’t as widely known as Ebates, it sports an impressive track record that gives customers up to 30% cashback rebates. They also have over 2,000 stores compared to Ebates. The principle is the same: shop your favorite online stores, make a purchase, and receive a credit to your Mr. Rebates account according to the percentage listed on the website. Credits to your account take only 1-3 days to show up, and you can cash out as soon as you’ve earned at least $10. Despite the fact that you can’t get a rebate if you use a gift card, you can still purchase discounted gift cards and get cashback in the process using the site’s coupons.

TopCashback

TopCashback is relatively new to the United States since its release in 2011, but it made its mark in the UK in 2005. TopCashback is unique because of its standard policy of using coupons in conjunction with cashback rewards. Coupon codes are easily searchable on the site’s “Offers” page. With thousands of different retailers and a mobile app that allows for extra savings, TopCashback has quickly become a success with cashback shoppers. You can even earn an extra 2.5% cashback on top of your paycheck when you redeem through Amazon. You can also redeem through sites like PayPal and ACH, though no 2.5% bonus is given for those.  Tell-a-Friend – help a friend save with TopCashback and earn $10 Tell-a friend bonus.

Buy/Sell Gift Cards

If you want to buy discounted gift cards or sell ones you don’t need, sites like GiftCardRescue or Raise are a godsend. We’ve all received a gift card at some point from a store we never shop at. Although it’s free money, we may want to spend it elsewhere. GiftCardRescue and Cardpool allow you to sell your unwanted gift cards for up to 92% cashback. You can then purchase heavily discounted gift cards (up to 35% off) from stores that you like. You get a check in the mail when you sell your gift card, so you can simply cash it if you don’t want to spend it on a gift card. It’s a win-win for cashback shoppers!

Do you like to shop online?

Ebates Coupons and Cash Back

If so, are you aware that you could save a few extra percentage points by clicking through from an online cash back website first? Not sure what we’re talking about? Cashback sites let you access a retailer’s online store through a link.  You will receive your item directly from the retailer, but in the process get some money from the cashback website. The money you get is often a percentage of the total price you paid. Well, some programs will provide you with a percentage of the total purchase price, while others have a flat sum that they pay out for each action. Cool, isn’t it? Many online retailers have affiliate marketing programs through which they pay other websites for bringing them business. Some of the best known businesses in this area include Ebates, Mr. Rebates, FatWallet, TopcashbackExtrabux and Upromise.

Mr. Rebates

The sites have links to retailers of everything from insurance policies and broadband deals, to electronics and household items, to groceries and toiletries. Those who use cashback websites can know beforehand how much they stand to get back for their purchases at each specific retailer before they buy. The cashback website receives a commission from the retailer that is shared with the customer who made the purchase, but only after the purchase is confirmed. Just like the cashback rebates that vary, the amount of time that it takes to receive your benefits also varies from site to site.

Certain sites will issue their rebates after a few months, while others will make their payments every four to six weeks. The time gap between purchase and cashback rebate is necessary to rule out payment to returned or cancelled goods. You can save big by using cashback websites. That’s because they give you back between 3 and 10 percent of your total purchase value. Imagine a total purchase of $1,000 can earn you up to $100! What’s more? Many cashback sites reward users for referring others to their site. That means you will have two ways of earning from these site. Some cashback sites also offer paid online surveys, daily deals, discussion forums, and other rewards to maintain customer loyalty and also increase traffic. The cashback websites usually make payment to the user in the form of gift cards, gift vouchers, bank transfers, mobile recharges, bank checks or online orders and online sites such as PayPal. However, some cashback websites will place a threshold on your account such that you will need to make several transactions for you to be able to receive a reward.

On cashback websites, browser extensions are utilized to bring to the attention of the users that they can receive cashback from their online purchases. All the cashback websites need you to have an account so they can track and pay out your cash back earnings. The account is free and once you have it, simply click through from their cash back mall before shopping. If you have not signed up at a cashback website, then you’ve been missing a lot; better do it right away!
